Limits on Confidentiality
Psychological therapy is confidential. However general information on progress will be provided to referrers.
Liaison with professional colleagues may occur in order to enhance the effectiveness of service provision, eg consultation with your GP and/or other professionals involved in your care.
Breaches of confidentiality occur in exceptional circumstances under which there appears sufficient evidence to raise serious concern about:
(a) the safety of clients
(b) the safety of other persons who may be endangered
by the client's behaviour or
(c) the health and welfare of children or vulnerable adults.
Fees may vary according to the type of work to be undertaken and the clinic attended. Some Insurers and agencies have set standard rates and agreed specific terms.
For self payments from individuals, fees are payable in advance or on the day at the commencement of the consultation. Payment made be made in cash or by cheque. Insurance companies may settle accounts directly through BACS or by cheque. All accounts to be settled within 30 days of invoice date.
